Photographer/ cameraman/ co-performer

I am a professionally trained video-photographer/visual artist in the United States (graduated in 1992). Previously, from 1995 to 2009, I produced, wrote, directed, and edited several short solo videos under a couple of my own companies. Additionally, I have shot solo photo series for various magazines and publishing companies in Europe and worked as a videographer abroad in various adult entertainment productions.

Since 2014, I have primarily worked as a freelancer and visual artist on porn art projects, and since 2018, also under a business name in the field of kinky and BDSM pornography. I distribute my videos commercially on the internet through a few portals via streaming or downloadable files. Occasionally, I also showcase my work non-commercially in art exhibitions if the images and videos meet my exhibition criteria. I limitedly engage in various online profile, nude, and pornographic photography as well as graphic design and also work as a professional master.

I have been training subs in BDSM sessions for a couple of decades now, and BDSM has become a part of my lifestyle. Nowadays, I am not interested in other forms of sexual interaction besides BDSM and kinky as well as their subgenres.

When I plan new BDSM shoots, they are based on personal interests, and I strive to execute my vision as accurately as possible. In planning productions and in the actual shooting, I aim to work systematically and meticulously to ensure that all necessary footage is captured and that its content and quality satisfy me. I invest a lot of my time and resources into the process. Therefore, I do not think my requirement for the participating performer to take the shoot seriously is excessive. I have no objection if the performer wants to realise their own sexual fantasy, as long as the shooting conditions and minimum requirements are met and the fantasy does not take precedence over the shoot.

I am not particularly interested in the most common fetishes and see them more as limiting factors to my work than elements that add value to the video. I am interested in men's suits and uniforms, hospital attire, national costumes, and religious clothing. I am not interested in working with transvestites as I do not find men in women's clothing, wigs, or makeup sexually appealing. Since hetero or lesbian sex as a genre also does not interest me, there are no roles for female performers in my productions.

I prefer working with masculine men around the ages of 35-60, but I do not limit performers to this age range. In principle, I accept all performers over 18 who meet the specified production requirements, agree to the shooting conditions, and can achieve a proper erection and perform at least two ejaculations per shooting day. The applicant's general attitude can, of course, influence whether I can accept them as a performer in my productions.

Since the adult entertainment industry has undergone significant changes due to the availability of free content on the internet, it is no longer possible to earn large incomes in the industry. Almost the only way to make some income from adult entertainment is to find your own niche and focus on it. It is advantageous if there is not much free content available in the niche and you can offer unique content. Although I do not yet own my own server, I distribute my videos through several different platforms. To my knowledge, I am the only producer in Finland who professionally produces kinky and BDSM videos with gay content. However, there are also many new, talented amateurs on the platforms who likely produce quite interesting content as a side job.

Since I appear myself (face visible) in my own BDSM productions, my image is public, although the characters I portray in the videos do not represent me as a private person. The characters also appear in various dating applications primarily as "non-classifieds" seeking visibility and secondarily looking for performers for productions.

As a private person, I am quite introverted and focused on my work. I am not willing to engage in personal sex discussions or share information about my private life. I am not interested in publicity more than my work requires. I always refuse interview requests and believe most public appearance requests are unnecessary or useless. If I promote my videos personally, I do it cross-artistically, for example, as a performance in character.

I take data security and the trust of performers who work with me very seriously. I do not discuss applicants or individuals I have worked with with outsiders, nor do I provide outsiders with any information about performers other than what has been agreed in writing as public information. Exceptions are the information required by the publishing platforms for video publication. These details are defined in privacy statements.

Most people have an opinion about the adult entertainment industry, and unfortunately, it is usually not based on facts. Producers in the industry are stereotypically seen as exploiters and performers as victims, and this view cannot usually be changed even with proper arguments. Since I work with BDSM pornography, which those unfamiliar with the subject often call "violence porn," I am often confronted with how sick this genre is and many doubts about its legality. BDSM or the shoots are not about exploitation, violence, coercion, or luring (grooming). Contact usually happens at the performer's initiative, rarely by me reaching out to a suitable person. The performer chooses the production they participate in or defines the shooting content in advance. The agreed content, possible masking, and publication rights as well as fees are recorded in the contract, and the performer's boundaries are not crossed during the shoot. The performer controls events with their safewords, which I and any other performers follow unconditionally and immediately. Thus, contracts and my general approach withstand legal scrutiny, and while the work conditions are strict to produce the right kind of content that matches my vision, they are also mutually fair. Written agreements protect the rights of both parties and clarify responsibilities. Publication rights define how the footage can be shared. I am aware of whom I have worked with over the years, and I am still in contact with most of them. I have not received negative feedback from performers about my work methods.

Since my job involves selecting performers and positions can be applied for anonymously, I follow a certain procedure and system in the selection process. I sometimes receive feedback from certain men that the process is too difficult or cumbersome, but usually, these individuals are not willing to elaborate on what was difficult for them, except for the amount of reading material. Accepted performers have not found the application process difficult and have given positive feedback on the clarity and thoroughness of the information. It is possible that some people are used to arranging sex meetings without much effort, but as an applicant for adult entertainment work, a person is equal to all other applicants. If this principle of equality does not suit the person, they are not suitable as a performer in my productions.

Sometimes the rejection of an applicant causes negative feedback, and not all applicants can always handle a rejection maturely. The application situation is similar to any other job application, and unfortunately, not all applicants are suitable as performers. I understand the rejected applicant's disappointment, but my tolerance for violence and death threats is zero, and I always report them directly to the police.

In the current social media era, I do not read or participate in internet discussions or comment in any way on possible rumours, gossip, or provocative anonymous criticism. People have opinions about things, but often an opinion says more about the speaker than the subject of the opinion. The same applies to me; I try to form my opinion based on my own experience, but I rarely bother to share my opinion publicly.

Distribution and publishing options

 Updated on 21/02/2024

Because video recordings are distributed from OF-type platforms and recently payment intermediaries have started to demand that the platforms pay more attention to the fact that the performers on the sites are not minors and that the producers have obtained the necessary permissions from the performers for the publication and distribution of video recordings.

Previously, US-only platforms complied with 18 U.S.C. Code § 2257 - Record keeping requirements law, which entered into force in 1990. In practice, that law specifies that the photographer or producer must obtain a signed release form (model release form or performer consent form), which, depending on the platform, contains clauses about the consent of the performer to the filming, the public release of the footage distribution, uploading of material to the platform (upload) and from the platform (download) and as an attachment a copy of at least one valid photo ID from each video performer. The producer must also keep these documents as long as the footage is published and distributed.

It is recommended that a signed publication permit and a copy of the ID card be obtained every time the performer is involved in filming. All performers are required to be at least 18 years of age and the paperwork must be filled out with their real name. The performer can use the artist name in the video, but publication permits are always made under the performer's own name, and in the publication permits the identity of the performer is attached to the artist name.

The written contract and the previously used adult release, which mainly concerned photographic material, are no longer sufficient evidence of the mentioned rights. Here is a list of the requirements of the current platforms for the publication and distribution of video recordings.

Adult model release is given to the publishing platform if the platform requests it, for example in a situation where the video has been reported to violate copyright or the performer is suspected of being a minor, or the video has been reported to be in violation of the platform's rules.
